Nintendo 64, also known as Project Reality is a gaming console, a joint product of Nintendo and Silicon Graphics. Later the name was changed to Ultra 64. The console was released in order to eliminate 32-bit competitors Sony and Sega from the gaming industry market. Nintendo shocked the developers and gamers by its decision to stay with the cartridge format instead of the CD, which have proven to be the most appropriate media for games.
